Dr. Juliano A. Andujo was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Jacksonville/Champaign, Illinois. He served as pastor and Presiding Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church for the past 30 years, spanning the mid-west, west coast and east coast regions. In this season of ministry, Dr. Andujo is led by God to “bear more fruit” John 15:8.
Dr. Andujo has produced much fruit in ministry and multiplied disciples in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Danville, Illinois, Riverside, California, Los Angeles, California, Hartford, Connecticut, and Washington, DC. As Presiding Elder of the Los Angeles District, Dr. Andujo supervised, supported, trained, and counseled the CME churches of the Greater Los Angeles District. Dr. Andujo has built churches numerically, spiritually, and financially including land purchase, building/parsonage purchase, building renovation, burning mortgages, reversing foreclosures, and securing grants.
His fruit is evident in being appointed to a multitude of trustworthy positions: (Southern California Region) Chair, Joint Board of Finance; Regional Coordinator, Los Angeles; Presiding Elder, Greater Los Angeles District; member, Committee on Ministerial Examination; member, Ministerial Tribunal; (New York-Washington Region) Chair, Committee on Ministerial Examination; Member, Joint Board of Finance; Social Justice Director, Washington-Virginia District; Delegate, World Council of Churches, 2011; General Conference Delegate, 2006-2022.
Pastor Andujo bears much fruit outside the walls of the church. Besides numerous outreach efforts, Dr. Andujo’s ministry is marked by effective evangelism, risk-taking missions, and prophetic social justice; most recently, God has supplied Pastor Andujo with a fire to pursue justice for displaced residents suffering due to gentrification in Washington, D.C. While Pastor Andujo is an effective administrator, he most eagerly serves God’s flock in preparation for preaching and teaching the word to a national audience.
Dr. Andujo continually prepares himself to bear even more fruit. His education includes: Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; Master of Divinity degree, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois; Certification in Social Justice and Civic Engagement, University of Southern California; Doctor of Ministry Degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. His thesis is A Model of Restoration: Jeremiah’s Response to Gentrification in Washington, DC, based on the book of restoration in Jeremiah 30-33. Jeremiah lifts four areas of restoration: healing from trauma, building belonging, becoming financial stakeholders, and deepening intimacy with God. These principles can restore our churches and communities in a post-pandemic world. In the next season, Dr. Andujo’s work is transforming toxic aspects to a culture of safe space for healing.
Still, Dr. Andujo is excited and focused on his next. He prays and expects God to bear much more fruit through him in this next season: “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you”, John 15:7.
